My Thing Is My Own
The lighter side of love, lust and marriage, tastefully presented and enthusiastically performed by singers Rosa Lamoreaux and Grant Herreid (& lute), with Tina Chancey and Tom Zajac.  From the blatantly sexual (by 18th-th century standards) to a mysterious song of seduction in which to seducer turns out to be the Devil, to a failed seduction in which the damsel gets the drop on her aggressor with pistols, D’Urfey’s songs are sometimes tender, other times satirical, often hilarious. Dazzling instrumentals complete this delightful program.
